What is Alcor Linux?
Alcor is an Arch-based GNU/Linux project focused on intentional deployment profiles, practical tooling and a clean operator experience.
What is the Algol environment?
Algol is the containerized toolkit layer. It keeps security-heavy packages inside a Distrobox environment while exporting useful applications to the host.
Which profile should I choose?
Choose Pentest for security assessment, Daily for work and gaming, Carma for a combined environment, or Expert when you want control over kernel and system posture.
Can I change the kernel?
Yes. Expert mode supports standard, Zen, Hardened and LTS kernel targets. The selected target is written into the deployment configuration.
Does the installer require internet access?
Yes. The base installation and first Algol initialization need network access to fetch repositories, container images and selected packages.
Where can I report a problem?
Use the GitHub Issues link in the Community section. Include your profile, kernel choice and the relevant terminal output.
